About Us

The Standard

Our vision is to create an environment in which people can experience the presence of God and connect with Him personally, as well as be developed in wisdom and faith to influence the world. We do this with a culture of Excellence, Discipline, Creativity, Service, and Generosity.

The worship team serves to guide people towards God and ministry to Him, not to distract from God, as they use their gifts and strengths to lead.

GENERAL WORSHIP TEAM EXPECTATIONS

  • Regularly attend Citadel Church on Sundays.

  • Serve on the worship team during the weekend services at Citadel Church.

  • Serve on the worship team during Citadel Church special events.

  • Have an active part in the Citadel Church worship community through rehearsals, team meetings, builders meetings, team relationships, and conferences & events.

  • Take an active role in developing other team members; musically, spiritually, & personally.

  • Partner with the body of Christ by inviting and serving guests, while authentically representing Jesus. You have been entrusted by Citadel Church to serve their family members, friends, and co-workers who may not yet know Jesus. Your role in the Kingdom is essential, whether you are on or off the platform.

Team Responsibilities

  • Planning Center Online is your lifeline for schedule/event related communication. Please check your PCO account and email weekly to preview any changes, set lists for upcoming services, your scheduled dates etc.

  • All other team-related communication will be on the Citadel Worship Team Voxer thread. Please download the Voxer App and connect with your team lead to be added to this thread if you are not already on it.

  • Serve when scheduled. When you need a replacement, arrange for someone  on the team (with Location Lead approval) to replace you. When you are scheduled, you will receive an email via PCO with chord charts and mp3’s of the scheduled songs.

  • Faithfully attend in-person local church rehearsals. Actively participate in team teachings whether on Zoom or In-Person. Rehearsal details are sent out weekly via e-mail or accessible as “Events” on PCO Groups.

  • Be on time for sound check. (On time means on the platform, instrument tuned and ready at the beginning of sound check.) Times are posted on the PCO plan date. Any adjustments to times will be communicated in advance by the Worship Leader. Tardiness may result in forfeiting participation from the platform in that service.

  • You are expected to attend services every Sunday and to sit through the entire teaching/preaching of the services you minister in worship.

  • Prepare in prayer and private worship. Develop your personal relationship with God, so that you have something to give. Pray for God’s heart for people each day. Pray for Heaven’s heart and hands.

  • Learn and practice music. It is vital to learn the music so that you can lead confidently and effectively as you engage in worship. This includes memorizing lyrics, chord charts, vocal parts, etc. to the best of your ability. Vocals and band members are expected to know the basic layout of a recorded song and be familiar with songs on a set prior to rehearsals covering said set.

Our Dress Code

We have color palettes for each service. Please check the ‘Notes’ section in PCO to see what colors are listed for the service you will minister in. (Black, white, and  neutrals are acceptable at all services.)

We are aiming to be world class and excellent in all we do. We want to dress as a united team in a manner that would honor Christ. What we wear can sometimes speak louder than what we say. Be mindful to not dress in a manner that would distract others or cause them to stumble.

The attire is business casual to relaxed business casual for services, so do not wear shorts, halter tops/spaghetti straps, or short skirts. Nice jeans are suitable attire. Ask when in doubt. If you think your attire is questionable, and that it could potentially distract someone, then do not wear it.

MEN

  • Slacks, Jeans: Nice jeans are permitted for services.
  • Shirts: Collared shirts and dress tee shirts are acceptable.
  • Shoes: No flip-flops or dirty sneakers.
  • No hats or bandanas.
  • No shorts, kilts, skirts, dresses or sweat pants.
  • When in doubt, ask.

WOMEN

  • Tops/Blouses: The shirts fit should be comfortable, yet appropriate with modesty and not rise above the waistline. No spaghetti straps, halter tops, strapless tops, or showing of undergarments.

  • Bottoms: Skirts should fall below the knee. No tight slacks, jeans, or stretch pants are acceptable unless worn with a long shirt/buttoned jacket covering down to the thigh. Avoid tight clothing.

  • When in doubt, ask.

THE RESULT

The congregation connects with the heart of God in a meaningful way through experiencing excellent, pure-hearted, Holy Spirit-inspired worship.
